Echo is the Greek goddess of communications and a nymph. Zeus hired her to distract his wife, Hera, from his endless naughtiness. Echo constantly jabbered in Hera’s ear until she got so pissed that she kicked Echo out and took away her ability to speak except to echo what someone else said. To compensate with her inability to communicate verbally, she learned every other means of communication. Because of her annoying speech impediment, she is typically asked to remain silent.
